First Responder FRFR

The First Responder event places competitors in a simulated emergency scene. Participants will assess the situation, administer first aid, and demonstrate CPR/AED skills in a scenario designed to test their medical response acumen.

This event encourages students to develop the skills necessary for responding to a medical emergency as a Firefighter First Responder as they would do in a real world practical application.

Objectives

  • Competitor should be able to:
  • perform the proper radio simulation required by first responders.
  • properly assess a victim for the need to perform CPR, AED, and epinephrine pen.
  • properly perform CPR.
  • perform the proper techniques for using an AED.
  • perform the proper techniques for using an epinephrine pen.
  • perform the proper techniques for stopping bleeding and bandaging wounds.
