This event encourages students to develop the skills necessary for responding to a medical emergency as a Firefighter First Responder as they would do in a real world practical application.
First Responder FRFR
The First Responder event places competitors in a simulated emergency scene. Participants will assess the situation, administer first aid, and demonstrate CPR/AED skills in a scenario designed to test their medical response acumen.
Objectives
Competitor should be able to: perform the proper radio simulation required by first responders. properly assess a victim for the need to perform CPR, AED, and epinephrine pen. properly perform CPR. perform the proper techniques for using an AED. perform the proper techniques for using an epinephrine pen. perform the proper techniques for stopping bleeding and bandaging wounds.
